Cool Things About Driving Classic Cars in 2021

2021 was a long year, but one of the best things about last year was the massive increase in popularity for classic cars. As newer cars become larger, heavier and less attractive, people look to the icons of the past to remember the fun of driving.

Older cars are lighter and less powerful

Compared to modern cars, classic cars were less about technology and more about the fun of driving. In 2021, cars became heavier and more powerful, but this meant they were sluggish while driving and too quick to enjoy. Instead people chose to buy classic cars because they are light so handle well, while having less power means that you can enjoy the drive, instead of just going from A to B.

More Support from the Community

As more people began to drive classic cars over the last few years, owners’ groups are now bigger and more supportive. The Volkswagen Beetle, for example, has hundreds of owners’ groups across Europe alone. There is also a higher level of advice in these forums as car owners started working on their own cars due to people having more free time on their hands.

Older Cars Look Better

Newer cars are big and powerful, but they don’t look very good. Older cars, such as the Volkswagen KarmannGhia and the VW SP2 are much better looking than many current sports cars, which focus on making the car look fast and not beautiful. The KarmannGhia, for example, is one of the best looking cars ever designed, while the SP2 is one of the best looking cars to ever be sold in the Americas.

So, there we have it. 2021 was incredible year for classic cars, with many restorations and restomods taking place around the world. Here’s to a wonderful 2022 for classic cars!
