Nice to talk to you. So, you own a Volkswagen Beetle right?
Yes, it’s a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle with aftermarket wheels with a really nice patina look.
What do you like best about the car?
There are so many things! I love the way it looks and feels. It’s a wonderful car. There’s a large element of nostalgia attached to it as well. I’ve had the car since I was 14!
That’s amazing! But is there anything about your car that annoys you?
Sometimes it’s too low! That affects it over speedhumps and potholes. It can also cause bodywork to scrape, but it looks great and accentuates the wheels, so I don’t really mind too much!
And finally, is there something like to say to a potential or new classic car owner? Something that is important to know before buying?
Research the car you’re buying. Visit forums, ask current owners about issues such as reliability and maintenance. Also, be prepared to spend money! Classic cars need a lot of care and will most likely need a restoration. Upkeep can also be expensive for a few years, but soon you will realise where you can save money.
